TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED THIS WEEK…

  • Tuesday our gr. 8 class hosted a Halloween Cookie Sale.  All proceeds are going towards their Gr. 8 Farewell in June.  The sale raised $330.00!  Thank you to everyone for making this such a successful sale.  They couldn’t have done it without you.
  • Black & Orange Day was also held on Tuesday.  The students had a fun day with Halloween activities and the energy in the building was exciting!
  • On Wednesday, we had some former SCCS students helping in the classrooms.
  • Wednesday was also All Saints Day, and our students were learning about different saints this week.
  • All Souls Day was on Thursday.
  • Thursday was also early dismissal.  Teachers had a Blue Cross presentation followed by our monthly Staff Meeting.
  • Today was our annual St. Charles Day!  The grs. 5 & 6 teachers hosted our annual assembly, and our students learned about our patron saint.  Thank you to the students who read at our assembly this morning. You did a really good job! The day ended with our annual tradition…ice cream from Sargent Sundae! 😊
  • We had some more former students back at SCCS today.  SPHS students were here to give back to our community.

LOOKING AHEAD TO NEXT WEEK….

  • On Monday, our grs. 7 & 8 students will have a presentation called “Bisons Against Bullying.”  One of our former students, now at the U of M, (fun fact: I taught him in gr. 1 😊), is coming back to speak to our middle years’ students along with one of his teammates.  It should be an excellent presentation.
  • Advisory groups are on Tuesday morning for our grs. 7 & 8 students.
  • I will be attending the Manitoba Federation of Independent Schools Education Committee meeting on Thursday morning.
  • Friday is our annual Remembrance Day Assembly at 10:30am.  Please feel free to join us in the main gym if you can. Our K-2 teachers are hosting this assembly.
  • Friday is also the due date for all outstanding Middle Years assignments to be counted towards first term report card marks for term 1.
  • Trivia Night is being held on Friday night at the Assiniboine Downs.  Get your tickets soon because this is going to be an amazing event!

LOOK WHAT’S COMING UP….

  • Lifetouch Picture Re-take Day is on November 16th.
  • St. Mary’s Academy and St. Paul’s High School will be here at SCCS to present to our gr. 8 students on November 16th
  • Powerschool closes to parents on November 16th in anticipation of report cards.
  • November 17th— Inservice Day.  There is no school.
