Our Shrove Tuesday Pancake Breakfast is coming up on Tuesday, February 13th from 7:00am-8:30am. Please join us! All are welcome, parents, students, grandparents, everyone. 😊 We’d love to see you there! (I hear the pancakes are going to be amazing!)
*If you are a KF or KL parent, please drop off all donations for the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Breakfast at the school on Monday, February 12th.
Grades 7 & 8 Moms: Last call for volunteering for Winter Camp from March 4th-6th. We are still in need of moms who have both their Child Abuse Registry Check & Criminal Record Check completed. Please reach out to me if you can help even if it is only for 1 night. Thank you.
*Don’t forget to send in your re-registrations as soon as possible. The deadline is Friday, February 23rd at 6:00pm.
TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED THIS WEEK…
- Our grades 7 & 8 students began the week with exams.
- It was also Learn to Skate on Monday for our K-2 students.
- On Wednesday morning, I attended my monthly Principal’s Meeting at the Archdiocese office.
- The gr. 4 class had a WISE Kid-Netic presentation on Thursday morning.
- Thursday was the last day of exams for grades 7 & 8 students.
- Today was the annual grade 7 & 8 Ski Trip to Holiday Mountain.
LOOK WHAT’S HAPPENING NEXT WEEK….
- Monday we kick-off Catholic Schools Week! We will have an assembly that afternoon.
- Monday is also Learn to Skate for our K-2 students.
- Tuesday is our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Breakfast hosted by our KF and KL families. The breakfast goes from 7:00-8:30am in the school cafeteria.
- On Tuesday afternoon, our K-2 students will be going bowling.
- Wednesday morning is our next Roots of Empathy family visit with Mrs. Gregorchuk and little Thomas.
- Wednesday we have our Ash Wednesday School Mass over at the church at 10:30am. Fr. Sarce will celebrate Mass with us.
- Wednesday is also Red, White, & Pink Colour Day.
- On Thursday, it is our annual K-2 100 Day.
- Our grades 3 & 4 students will be heading to the Manitoba Museum on Thursday.
- Our grades 5 & 6 students will be doing a STEM activity in the morning on Thursday, and in the afternoon will head out to go bowling.
- Our grades 7 & 8 students will also be going bowling Thursday afternoon, along with lazer tag.
- Friday is an Inservice Day. There is no school. Teaching staff will be participating in our annual Catholic Schools Day Professional Development Day at St. Mary’s Academy.
LOOK WHAT’S COMING UP…..
- There’s no school on February 19th as it is Louis Riel Day.
- February 22nd will be “Character Dress up Day.” Students and staff are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character.
- Grades 3-8 will be going to the Festival Du Voyageur on February 23rd.
- All re-registrations are due on February 23rd.
- Pink Shirt Day is coming on February 28th. We will be having a special assembly that day. More details to follow.
- February 29th will be a “Flash Reading Mob” at SCCS.
SPECIAL NEWS …
William, one of our grade 5 students, has an exciting weekend ahead!
He qualified for the Manitoba Junior Provincials Swim Meet and is swimming in Brandon this weekend in nine events!!

NEW SPORTS JERSEYS
St. Charles Catholic School is very lucky! Through an anonymous donor, we have been able to purchase 60 new sports jerseys for our volleyball and basketball teams! This is very exciting! We are extremely grateful for their kindness and generosity. Thank you.
BASC
- There is BLINE on Monday.
- Tuesday is the Valentine Craft.
- Friday, no school. All day BASC full.

GLENLEA GREENHOUSES FUNDRAISER-ORDER NOW!
We are having some issues with older students bringing perfume and scented hairspray to school. Many of our students, and some of our staff, have allergies to these products.
Please do not send these products to school going forward.
Teachers will also be having a conversation with students regarding this matter.

VOLUNTEER FOR MORNING LOADING ZONE PATROL 2024
40 CANS OF LENT
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have successfully collected $510.00 for our Blessing Bag initiative! The funds gathered will now be utilized to assemble Blessing Bags over the next couple of weeks at the school. These thoughtfully prepared bags will be filled with essential items and necessities to bring comfort and warmth to those in need. We plan to deliver these Blessing Bags to Siloam Mission later this month. Once again, thank you for your incredible support. It is heartening to witness the power of our community coming together to spread kindness. We will keep you updated on the progress of the Blessing Bag initiative and look forward to sharing the impact we make together.
