This week’s message begins with a heartfelt thank you to some staff members who will not be returning next year.

At the same time, we are excited to welcome new members to our team. Each brings a passion for Catholic education and a commitment to student growth. Please join me in welcoming

The Winnipeg Police Service has recently shared an important advisory highlighting growing concerns about online safety for children and youth. They note that individuals are increasingly targeting young people through popular platforms such as gaming apps and social media, especially those who may be feeling vulnerable.

Families are encouraged to stay engaged with their children’s online activity and watch for signs such as sudden changes in behaviour, secrecy around devices, or exposure to concerning content.

We recommend having open conversations with your children about online safety and ensuring they know to speak to a trusted adult if something doesn’t feel right. Supporting our students’ well-being-both online and offline-continues to be a shared priority.

TRACK & FIELD HIGHLIGHTS

Our Grades 4–6 and Grades 7–8 students represented St. Charles with pride at this year’s track and field meets. From start to finish, our athletes demonstrated determination, sportsmanship, and a strong commitment to doing their best. This is our list of medalists from the track meets, and it reflects both individual excellence and team effort.

A sincere thank you to our staff for their organization and support, and to our parents for ensuring students arrived, were picked up, and were supported throughout the events. Your partnership plays a vital role in making these opportunities possible

Report cards will only be distributed on the last day of school, Tuesday, June 30th. Students will receive their report cards at dismissal time (11:35am).

If your child will not be in attendance on June 30th, you may pick up their report card from the school starting at 8 am. Please note that our staff and student body will be at Mass from 10-11 am and the Front Office will be closed during that time, so report cards will not be available during this hour.

Any uncollected report cards after 2 pm will be held at the school and available for pick up when the office re-opens on August 25th. Thank you for your cooperation and support!

Your child’s report card will indicate who their teacher will be for the upcoming school year. Please note that full class lists are not shared.

Student placements have been carefully and thoughtfully determined by staff and administration, with many factors considered to ensure a balanced and supportive learning environment for all students. These decisions are final and will not be changed under any circumstances. Thank you.

If your child will be absent on the last day of school, Tuesday, June 30th, please email reception@stccs.ca as soon as possible to notify the Front Office for attendance purposes. Thankyou!

LICE REMINDER FOR FAMILIES

We kindly remind families to regularly check their children’s hair for head lice. Lice are common and can spread easily in environments where children are in close contact. Please take a few minutes each week to inspect your child’s scalp, especially behind the ears and at the nape of the neck. If lice or nits (eggs) are found, please treat promptly and notify the school. Early detection helps prevent further spread.

Thank you for helping us keep our school community healthy!

Lost & Found tables will be set up in the school entrance starting Monday and will remain until Thursday at 3:00 PM. We encourage families to stop by the office and check for any missing items before the tables are cleared.

The school supply lists for the upcoming school year will be posted on the SCCS website next week. You’ll find detailed lists by grade to help you prepare for September. We encourage families to review the lists early to take advantage of back-to-school sales over the summer. To access the supply lists, please visit our website and look under the “Parent Information” or “Resources” section. Thank you for your support in helping students start the new school year organized and ready to learn!

Thank you to the community for all your support the past two years.
Our Turf Campaign raised $109,095. Amazing!
We look forward to unveiling Phase II n September: An outdoor classroom and multi-student swing set.
