Happy New Year!  I hope that January is off to a good start for you.  I’d like to share with our school community that Mme. McIsaac had her baby; a lovely little girl named Everlee Cornelia.  She was born on January 3rd, at 6lbs. 9oz, and 19 inches long.  Everyone is doing well, and Mme. McIsaac and her husband are loving their new roles as parents!  Congratulations to them both as they journey down this new life path!

TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED THIS WEEK ….

  • Our to K-2’s began their Learn to Skate lessons on Monday.  What a great time they had!  Many of our students have never skated, but they gave it their all.  It was fun to watch, and we’re already looking forward to next week!
  • Our Middle Years students had their Enrichment classes on Tuesday.
  • Pizza Day lunch was on Wednesday for those students who ordered.
  • Mrs. Boughton and Baby Henrik were here for the Roots of Empathy family visit on Wednesday morning.  The theme for this visit was crying, and the kindergarten students learned that babies cry for various reasons.
  • I attended a Manitoba Federation of Independent Schools education committee meeting Thursday morning.

WHAT’S COMING UP NEXT WEEK? Looking Ahead ……

  • Learn to Skate happens on Monday for our K-2 students. I was told that if there were any parents who would like to come and skate with their child’s class, they are more than welcome to. 😊
  • Holy Childhood banks need to be returned by Monday to classroom teachers.
  • Tuesday, SCCS will have a visit from the Department of Education.  Our funded independent schools’ liaisons will spend the day visiting our school, meeting with Admin. and staff, and will visit classrooms.
  • Tuesday morning, our Middle Years students will have Enrichment classes.
  • Wednesday is Subway Lunch for those students who ordered.
  • Please note that I will be away on my annual Principal’s Retreat Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, and Friday.  I will not be checking emails consistently as wifi is not always good, and I can’t always log in to my school account.  Also, there will be no Principal’s Weekly Update on January 20th.  The next update will be on January 27th.  I will be checking in with Mrs. Prettie daily and keeping up to date with life at SCCS though.  😊
