Christmas Email from Mrs. Narynski

Dear SCCS Families:

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful holiday season!  It is such a special time of year.

My hope is that you take some time over the holidays to create those special family memories and enjoy a sense of peace and wonder that only this time of the year brings.

Thank you to all of you who have sent in good wishes, kind words, treats for the staffroom, and other items for staff.  Your generosity and thoughtfulness are sincerely appreciated.

I’d also like to wish Mme. Melissa McIsaac all the best as she begins her maternity leave after Christmas holidays.  We wish her blessings as she journeys into this new phase of her life. Becoming a new Mom is a great way to start a new year!

I’d like to extend a warm welcome to Mr. Clinton Sahulka, who will be joining the SCCS community and taking over Mme. McIsaac’s position while she is away on her maternity leave.  Here’s some information to help introduce you to Mr. Sahulka.

My name is Clinton Sahulka, and I will be the Kindergarten to Grade 5 French language teacher at St. Charles Catholic School while Mme McIsaac is away on maternity leave. I am very grateful for the exciting opportunity given to me to teach your children the French language. I have made French the focus of my teaching career with many years of experience working as a French Immersion mathematics, science, and language instructor for students in Grade 4 through to Grade 9. My hope is that the enthusiasm that I have for the French language will, in turn, inspire your children to grow in their own understanding, appreciation and use of the language. I look forward to meeting all of you as I teach at St. Charles Catholic School.

Please note, that the school is closed from December 22nd to January 4th inclusively, and emails will be responded to when staff return from their Christmas holidays on January 5th.  If your child has left something at school over the break, they can get it when they return on January 5th.

Lastly, we are providing you with a link to our Christmas Concert video.  Thank you for all the positive feedback regarding the concerts.  We had a great time, and it was so much fun being able to do the concerts in person once again.

Here is the link:

Also, just some general neighbourhood housekeeping information, the Augier Avenue access at Provincial Trunk Highway 100 (South Perimeter) will be barricaded on December 23rd, 2022.  The plan is to close this access permanently in the spring of 2023.

I leave you with this prayer.

Loving God, we are all servants of Christ. Help us to remember amid the busy preparations for visiting with friends and family that in everyone, rich or poor, and in every time, joyous or solemn, You are there.  We ask this through Your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

Merry Christmas! See you on January 5th!
