Principal’s Update – September 5, 2025
Attachment: Important Measles Information for Back to School
The first week of school has come to a close, and what a busy but wonderful start it was. The best part was seeing all of our students on the first day, prepared in their new uniforms, excited, and maybe a little nervous, which is all to be expected.
We began the year with a welcome back assembly for students and staff. Together we prayed, shared our goals for the year, and revealed the many updates to the building. Students were impressed with the changes, especially when they said we had somehow made the gym bigger. We ended the assembly with an interactive game that had everyone laughing. Several classes won prizes thanks to their teachers who showed their courage and school spirit by dancing, answering trivia questions, doing 30 jumping jacks, or even wearing a silly hat for the day. The winning classes were Grades 3-4, 4, 5F, and 7A.
After that fun start, teachers quickly got down to the important work of building routines and expectations. By Friday, it was clear that students had already settled in and were working hard. Everyone has earned a good rest this weekend.
This update is a short one, but I look forward to keeping you informed throughout the year. If you have any questions, please email me or contact the school office.
Thank you to everyone for making the start of our year such a positive one. To our families, your trust and support mean so much to our school community. To our staff, your care, professionalism, and dedication ensure that every student feels supported and ready to learn. To our Board of Directors, your commitment helps us continue to grow and succeed together. With such a strong start, I am excited for all that this year will bring.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

CHILD ABUSE REGISTRY CHECK (CARC)
As required by the Archdiocese, all volunteers must have a cleared Child Abuse Registry Check (CARC) on file each school year. Applications were sent home this week and must be submitted to the Front Office with valid ID. There is no cost to families. New parents may not volunteer until their clearance is received. Returning parents who had a CARC on file last year and submit a new one for this year may continue volunteering during the carry-over period. Processing takes 6–8 weeks, so please submit your application as soon as possible to avoid delays in volunteering.

CHOCOLATES & RAFFLE BOOKLETS
Due to unforeseen circumstances with our chocolate distributor, our order has been delayed. As a result, we are holding off on distributing the raffle booklets until the chocolates have arrived. We will share the new pick-up dates for both the chocolates and raffle booklets as soon as the delivery is confirmed.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
WELCOME BACK BBQ
Thank you to everyone who attended our Welcome Back BBQ.
It was wonderful to see so many families come together and enjoy the afternoon. A special thank you goes to the parent volunteers and our parent coordinators, Meg Gifford and Nicole Klassen whose time, effort, and planning made the event such a success.
Thank you to our sponsors for your support. The students had a great time on the bouncy castles and at the arts and crafts tables, and it was a joy to watch them having fun together.
Our community is strong, and we are looking forward to a fantastic year ahead.
PUFFERS / EPI-PENS / MEDICATIONS
If your child requires an asthma puffer, epi-pen, seizure medication, or other prescribed medication, please ensure it is provided to the school as outlined on their Medical Form.
Epi-pens must always be carried by the child in a fanny pack or cross-body pack, with no exceptions. Puffers may be carried in the same way or stored in the Front Office Medical Cabinet. Backpacks, desks, or lockers should not be used to store emergency medication. Families are encouraged to provide a back-up puffer or epi-pen to be kept in the Medical Cabinet. Any short-term medications (such as antibiotics) must be brought to the Front Office by a parent/guardian, and staff will administer as directed. Students should never carry oral medications at school.
