Principal’s Weekly Update and Important Information- January 16, 2026

Attachment:

In the Middle Years, students are reviewing key concepts, refining study habits, and preparing for upcoming exams. This time is being used intentionally to consolidate understanding, practice written responses, and develop the independence and responsibility that are essential for academic success.

In the early and middle elementary grades, students are continuing to build foundational skills through practice, reflection, and guided learning. Confidence grows as students revisit familiar concepts, apply new strategies, and take pride in the progress they are making each day.

Across all grades, there is a strong sense of purpose and engagement in classrooms. Below are samples of student work from Kindergarten through Grade 8 that highlight the effort, growth, and learning happening throughout our school.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED to assist with our Kinder Fair & General Open House on January 27, 2026

We are excited to launch a new Jazz Band for students in Grades 7 and 8 on Fridays during the lunch hour! This program offers students the opportunity to explore a unique musical style, strengthen their listening and improvisation skills, and grow their confidence as ensemble performers. Jazz Band has been introduced to give interested students an additional, fun, and collaborative way to make music together while building skills that support all areas of their musical learning.

St. Charles Street, the parking lot, and the bus loop are single‑lane traffic areas. Passing another vehicle is not permitted at any time. This behaviour is dangerous and creates serious safety risks and confusion during drop‑off and pick‑up.

Drivers must remain in line and wait their turn while vehicles move through the loading zone. Failure to follow these procedures compromises the safety of students, staff, and families. Thank you for your immediate cooperation in keeping our school grounds safe and accessible for all.
To help support this effort, we are looking for parent volunteers to assist with our parking lot and loading zone patrol. Please sign up using the link below: 2025-2026 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED | PARKING LOT & LOADING ZONE PATROL

…. is a national fundraising campaign run by the Canadian Catholic School Trustees’ Association to help families in provinces where Catholic education receives little or no public funding, providing tuition assistance through the CCSTA Endowment Fund so students can access a faith‑based education; schools across Canada support the initiative by encouraging students to donate a toonie or more, helping respond to the high demand for financial support and ensuring more families can afford Catholic schooling.
