Extra-Curricular Activities:

PML 2020-2021: Starts September 22nd to September 24th, 2020

Greetings PML Families,

Welcome to our 2020-2021 Private Music Lesson instructional year. These are truly unique times, but I am confident that with all the necessary protocols in place our students will grow and thrive both personally and musically. We will be using multiple safety procedures this year such as:

  • Masks are to be worn by both student and instructor
  • Hands will be washed and sanitized before and after each use.
  • Distancing in instruction using a yard stick and pointers where needed.

Our PML program will begin September 22nd to September 24th, 2020. Our PML Instructors will have received their studio lists of students and will contact each of their PML studio families starting Wednesday, September 16th through Monday, September 21st, 2020 to:

  • Introduce themselves,
  • Share their own email and phone number contact information with you, and
  • Let you know your child's lesson day/time information.

Joining our Fabulous PML team this year is Ms. Charmaine Bacon. We wish to welcome her to our crew of AMAZING PML Instructors. Please view her short bio by clicking on link.

THANK YOU parents for all your efforts in supporitng your children's musical growth & development as we put forth our best and safest practices this year.

I look forward to seeing you all soon (distancing and yet together).

Cheers to a new PML year!

Kathy Lalonde, PML Co-ordinator

Did you Know?

Music Lessons can help improve children's reading skills! Children exposed to a multi-year program of music tuition involving training in increasingly complex rhythmic, tonal, and practical skills display superior cognitive performance in reading skills compared with their non-musically trained peers, according to a study published recently in the journal, Psychology of Music, published by SAGE.

No lessons are scheduled during Christmas Holidays, January Exam Week (for Grades 6-8 students only), Catholic Schools Week, the week before Spring Break (to be used for make-up lessons) or during Spring Break.

Great news! We continue to offer our new student illness policy providing an opportunity for our PML students to receive two lessons missed for illness per school year based on the guidelines set in the posted Terms and Conditions letter below.

More great news! Registration discount rates for families with multiple children enrolled in Private Music Lessons at St. Charles. When registering for next years’ PML program, please take a look at the registration form to see if your family qualifies for any of the PML registration discounts.
