Principal’s Weekly Update and Important Information- May 29, 2026

Mandatory fundraising (chocolate and raffle sales) will once again take place, with each family required to complete five units or opt out for a fee. Families may also earn VIP hours through additional sales.

In addition, participation in the Volunteer Incentive Program (VIP) remains mandatory, with a requirement of 20 volunteer hours per year or an option to opt out.

As we approach the end of another wonderful school year, families are invited to participate in our SCCS Year-End Tradition of Classroom Appreciation Gifts for homeroom teachers. Participation is voluntary, and any contribution is gratefully appreciated.

A reminder, our 6-8 choir will perform during the opening ceremonies on Thursday, June 4 at the Radisson Hotel in Winnipeg at 7PM. Please complete the Permission Click to confirm your child’s attendance.

Please use designated areas for parking and drop-off. Your cooperation helps keep all students and families safe.

Students are expected to continue following the general dress code guidelines outlined in the school agenda. Shirts should be of appropriate length and long enough to be tucked in, and shorts should be comparable in length to the school uniform skort (approximately two inches above the knee). For safety, Crocs and open-toed sandals are not permitted as outdoor footwear.

  • Monday: A new month begins-please ensure your BASC form is submitted prior to attending.
  • Tuesday: Golf (final class).
  • Thursday: Tennis (final class) and early dismissal.
  • Friday: BASC field trip is now full.

Year‑End Recitals: Wednesday, June 3, held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church (600 Cambridge Street, River Heights). 4:30–5:30 p.m./ 6:00–7:00 p.m. / 7:30–8:30 p.m.
Registration for 2026–2027: 30‑minute private music lessons for the 2026–2027 school year is open and can be completed using the following link: https://permission.click/gNjPZ/ca.

Students will no longer be transported back to school from any University track meets. This change allows students who qualify for finals to remain and participate, as early departures were previously required due to bus scheduling constraints.

Please note that transportation to the track meet will still be provided on June 8; however, bussing will not be available on June 5.

We are asking for your help! So far we have raised $108,095. Amazing!
