Principal’s Update – September 12, 2025

Attachment:

We have completed our first full week of school, and what a wonderful week it has been. The halls and classrooms at St. Charles have been busy with students working hard, building friendships, and settling into routines that will carry us through the year ahead.

As I walk through classrooms each day, I see students engaged and teachers guiding them with care and dedication. This week, I want to give a special welcome to our youngest learners — our Kindergarten students. We are so happy you are here. Starting school is such an important milestone, and we are excited for all the learning, growth, and joyful moments that await you this year.

Thank you to our families for your continued support as we begin this new school year together.

As required by the Archdiocese, all volunteers must have a cleared Child Abuse Registry Check (CARC) on file each school year. Applications were sent home this week and must be submitted to the Front Office with valid ID. There is no cost to families. New parents may not volunteer until their clearance is received. Returning parents who had a CARC on file last year and submit a new one for this year may continue volunteering during the carry-over period. Processing takes 6–8 weeks, so please submit your application as soon as possible to avoid delays in volunteering.

Due to unforeseen circumstances with our chocolate distributor, our order has been delayed. As a result, we are holding off on distributing the raffle booklets until the chocolates have arrived. We will share the new pick-up dates for both the chocolates and raffle booklets as soon as the delivery is confirmed.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

It’s the 45th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope. This year, our school is going all out to fundraise for cancer research! We’re super excited to take part! Please support our student’s fundraising efforts and donate today.

Thank you in advance for your support.

If your child requires an asthma puffer, epi-pen, seizure medication, or other prescribed medication, please ensure it is provided to the school as outlined on their Medical Form.

Epi-pens must always be carried by the child in a fanny pack or cross-body pack, with no exceptions. Puffers may be carried in the same way or stored in the Front Office Medical Cabinet. Backpacks, desks, or lockers should not be used to store emergency medication. Families are encouraged to provide a back-up puffer or epi-pen to be kept in the Medical Cabinet. Any short-term medications (such as antibiotics) must be brought to the Front Office by a parent/guardian, and staff will administer as directed. Students should never carry oral medications at school.

Wednesday, September 17th at 6:30 PM in the school gym for a short information presentation for all parents.
Students are welcome to attend but must remain with their parents throughout the evening. Following the presentation, you are invited to visit classrooms and learning spaces to meet teachers and staff. A reception will also be held in the cafeteria.
We look forward to seeing our families there. This evening is a wonderful opportunity to connect with staff, visit your child’s learning spaces, and meet other parents in our school community.

We are asking for your help! So far we have raised $97,095. Amazing!
You can track our progress on the school website.
