Principal’s Update – April 18, 2025

As we reach the final days of Lent, we enter into the heart of our Christian story: the Holy Triduum—the sacred three days that lead us from the Last Supper to the joy of the Resurrection.

Today, on Holy Thursday, we recall the moment when Jesus gathered with His disciples for the Last Supper. He washed their feet, broke bread, and gave us the gift of the Eucharist—a lasting reminder of His love and a call to serve others with humility. Tomorrow, on Good Friday, we will pause to reflect on the depth of Christ’s sacrifice. In silence and reverence, we remember His suffering and death on the cross—a powerful act of love that brings hope to the world.

On Holy Saturday, we wait in stillness and prayer, preparing our hearts for the light of Easter. As the darkness gives way to dawn, we will celebrate the Resurrection at the Easter Vigil, rejoicing in the promise of new life.

This week at school, we took time to reflect as a community through a special Lenten assembly led by some of our Grade 7 and 8 students. Their thoughtful leadership helped guide us through the meaning of these sacred days and reminded us of the importance of prayer, reflection, and preparing our hearts for Easter.

These days invite us to enter fully into the mystery of our faith—together, as a school community, and as families of faith. May this sacred time bring peace to your hearts and homes as we prepare to celebrate the joy of Easter.

There are also three gift baskets to win, and tickets can be purchased in the front office and on May 5th.

Lifetouch will be at the school on Tuesday, April 30th starting at 9:00 AM to take individual and class photos of all students in Grades 6–8 who are part of the band program.
These photos will serve as a keepsake of the students’ participation in the music program. They also provide families with a special way to commemorate their child’s involvement in band.

All students will receive a photo package with details on how to place an order.

These two concerts mark an exciting new chapter in our school’s musical journey, and we cannot wait to showcase the incredible talent and hard work of our students. Over the past few months, they have been diligently preparing under the enthusiastic and skilled direction of Mrs. Christelle Gregorchuk, our K–8 Orff, Choral, and Band Specialist. Her passion and leadership have truly brought these performances to life!

We are looking to add more fun and engaging items to our outdoor play areas! If you have any gently used sandbox toys or playhouse toys that your family no longer needs, we would greatly appreciate your donations. These items help enhance creative play and outdoor learning for our students.

If you would like to contribute, please drop off any donations at the school office. Thank you for your generosity!

Do you have a band instrument sitting in storage, unused and collecting dust? Put it to good use by donating it to our school! Our music program is always in need of instruments to ensure every student has the opportunity to learn and play.
If you have an instrument to donate, please bring it to the school office or contact Mrs. Gregorchuk. Thank you for your support!
