This year’s baskets include:

  • Couples’ Basket – valued at $300
  • Family Basket – valued at $375

We continue to see cars parked in the bus loop. Please DO NOT PARK or WAIT IN YOU VEHICLE in the bus loop! You will be ticketed.

For everyone’s safety, please use only the designated loading zone, parking lot, behind the church or any side streets for student drop-off and pick-up. Your cooperation helps keep all students and families safe.
We are looking for parent volunteers to assist with our parking lot and loading zone patrol. Please sign up using the link below:

Please double‑check whether your child is participating in the Mother’s Day craft, as the form was not included with April’s forms. A new month begins next week. If you require summer care, please submit your forms as soon as possible. We will be reviewing registrations next week to confirm minimum and maximum enrolment numbers. For BASC Instagram access, please send me your Instagram username and request to follow the account on Instagram.

Our Bursary tuition applications are available online for the 2026-2027 school year. Please submit all completed applications to the school office by May 15, 2026. The forms can be found on Parent Zone under Forms & Programs.
Tuition assistance is available for families, and those wishing to apply must complete and submit all required documentation as part of the application process. We are committed to supporting families and encourage anyone with questions to contact the school office.

Several field trips are coming up. If your family requires financial assistance to ensure your child can participate, please do not hesitate to contact administration. We are committed to working with families to ensure all students can take part in these meaningful learning experiences.

The St. James Knights of Columbus are hosting their annual garage sale at St. Paul the Apostle Church. Sale Dates & Times: Saturday, May 9: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 10: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Volunteers Needed for sorting, setup, sales, and pickups. To volunteer or arrange a pickup, contact Charles Huygbeart at 431‑279‑5810.

Donation Drop‑Off (at the Parish Hall only): Wednesday, May 6 & Thursday, May 7: 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Friday, May 8: 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Please do not bring donations before May 6.

Items Accepted: Working appliances and electronics, gently used clothing and shoes, Household linens and décor, small kitchen appliances, Games, toys, sporting goods, tools, bikes, small furniture (chairs, tables, lamps)

Items Not Accepted: Upholstered furniture, Suitcases, Computers, stereos, or game consoles, Any items not in good working condition

As we continue to journey through the Easter season, we are reminded that this is a time of hope, renewal, and new beginnings. Spring has certainly surprised us this week with a return to winter‑like weather, and an unexpected reminder that growth and transformation do not always follow a predictable path. Even so, signs of new life and possibility are always present.

Here at SCCS, we are well into Term 3 and fully engaged in working toward our goals. This is an important time for growth and development, both academically and personally, as students build on their learning and continue to develop

confidence, responsibility, and resilience.

As always, our partnership with families is vital. Please remember that teachers are

available and eager to support your child’s learning. We encourage families to reach out, make connections, and ask questions. Open communication strengthens our community, and we are here to support you and your child every step of the way.

We will be celebrating Earth Day on Wednesday with classroom activities focused on caring for our planet. Students are invited to participate in a Blue and Green Colour Day, and uniforms are not required for this special occasion

On Thursday, Westwood Collegiate Band students visited our school to work with our Grade 7 band students. This collaborative experience is always a highlight for our school community. The students are preparing for their upcoming Band Festival on April 21.

Our Grade 7 band will be performing at the Level 1 Band Festival at MY Church Winnipeg and will participate in a workshop with the adjudicator following their performance. Good luck, Grade 7s—we are so proud of you!

The 26th Annual SCCS Golf Tournament will take place on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the beautiful Breezy Bend Golf Course. This long‑standing tradition is an important community event and a key fundraiser in support of our school. We kindly ask families to mark this date on their calendars.

The success of this event depends on the generosity and involvement of the entire St. Charles Catholic School community. We are currently seeking:

  • Golfers to participate in the tournament
  • Hole sponsors (tax receipts will be provided)
  • Prize donations to support our draws and celebrations throughout the day

This achievement reflects the enthusiasm, generosity, and dedication of our students, families, and staff.
