Welcome to our Book Fair information page. The Book Fair connects students with books that will interest them and encourage a life-long love of reading. This year's book fair features new, must-have books by favourite authors. Your support of this literary event provides valuable learning resources for our school. The Scholastic Book Fair starts Monday, February 6th. We invite you to share in this celebration of books and reading with us. Our 2nd Book Fair will be set up for the week of Monday, February 6th to Friday, February 10th in the main floor cafeteria. Students will visit the Book Fair during class time on Monday to find books they like and create a Student Wish List. If you are unable to visit the Fair, look over the Highlights flyer with your child and use the Student Wish List form on the back of the flyer to review your child’s choices or create a new list. It’s simple to order. Review the Wish List, approve the selections, then, simply send it and the correct amount of money to school with your child. The Book Fair accepts cash, cheques payable to the school, Visa, MasterCard and American Express (machine onsite). All book prices include the sales tax. Some books may have a Last Copy sticker on them and must stay on display. These books can be ordered and must be paid for at the time of ordering. They will be delivered to your child’s classroom once the books are received. There will also be opportunities for your child to win prizes by participating in our Book Fair Activities and Draws. These contest draws will be held Thursday. The big event is the Family Event Door Prize being held on Wednesday, March 23rd at 4:30PM. On Monday when the students visit the Book Fair, they will receive a ballot for the Family Event Door Prize Draw. The lucky winner of this draw will win a $25.00 Book Fair gift certificate and a $25.00 Book Fair gift certificate for the student's classroom library. To be eligible for the draw, make sure that all ballots are returned to the Book Fair desk by Wednesday, March 23rd by 3:30PM. (One ballot per student please.) Look for the Classroom Wish List display for parents interested in helping us build classroom libraries. By purchasing books and donating them to your child’s teacher, you give students even greater access to books. Your generosity can make a classroom more exciting and stimulating to young minds. Every gift will be recognized with a bookplate identifying your family or child as the donor. This year we have awesome student helpers. Our Book Fair Student Crew have been busy promoting and helping out. If you need any help or information please don't hesitate to ask any of our black t-shirted CREW members.
We look forward to seeing you at the Fair!! Please call if you have any questions. | |||||||||||||
